First Aid Responder (FAR)
The national standard for workplace first aid in Ireland.
Course Overview
This First Aid Response (FAR) course is the new PHECC standard, replacing the old Occupational First Aid. It is designed for anyone who wishes to be able to recognise and care for people with life-threatening injuries before the arrival of healthcare practitioners. This course includes the full Cardiac First Response (CFR) Community standard.
Who Should Attend?
This course is ideal for anyone who requires first aid training as part of their job, such as non-healthcare personnel, sports coaches, teachers, and parents. It is the recognised standard for workplace first aid in Ireland.
Participant Requirements
- There are no prerequisites for this course.
- Students must be physically well enough to carry out practical skills (e.g., CPR, recovery position, bandaging).
- A good understanding of English is required.
